The Spokane Chiefs held their annual Teddy Bear Toss Night tonight! Fans are encouraged to bring new or slightly used teddy bears & stuffed animals to be distrubuted to less fortunate kids in the Spokane area. The rules are....when the Chiefs score their first goal, let 'em fly!! We didn't have to wait long...we scored less than 4 minutes into the game. It's always fun to watch and this year they collected 4,067, a new record for Spokane!! A great cause!
Reagan giving my bear bunny ears while the team warms up!
Let 'em fly....watch your head, here they come!! :-)
A local Ford dealership loaned the team 3 trucks to load 'em all up. Players & volunteers get them all picked up in probably 10-15 minutes (I didn't watch the clock, but it's always quick considering the big number!! The biggest bear of all (Chiefs mascot, Boomer) took a ride in the last truck off the ice!
What a nut!!
Final Score....Spokane Chiefs 6, Kootenay Ice 2 (We led 5-1 after1)
